After graduating from Boston University, I practiced as a chartered surveyor before joining the far more exciting world of financial public relations in 1980. I became a director of Streets Financial, which did so well that just six years later, I left to co-found Hudson Sandler. The world has changed many times since 1986, but I have continued to enjoy the cut and thrust of financial PR – advising a wide range of companies and City institutions as well as working on numerous takeovers, listings and fund raisings. Every day I thank my lucky stars I had the good sense to get out of surveying.
